Riding Camp Information and Dates


Teaching new riders how to work safely around horses and gain confidence requires hands-on guidance.

With necessary physical distancing rules in effect, this can’t be done safely and it isn’t conducive to a fun camp atmosphere. 

✬ Full-day camps for riders aged 7 to 12 years, beginner** to intermediate.

✬ Maximum 16 campers per week

✬ NCCP certified instructors and experienced staff

✬ Monday – Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

✬ Two daily riding sessions + horsemanship activities

✬ Weekly “Fun & Games” afternoons + swimming

✬ Friday horse show and afternoon demonstration for family


Level 1 No formal instruction – beginner

Level 2  Has had a few lessons or done mutliple horse camps.

Level 3 Has had Formal instruction – can walk & trot independently and almost ready to or has done some cantering.

Level 4 Currently in formal lessons, cantering and jumping small jumps

Weeks 1 – 3 open to riders 7 to 12 years-olds of all levels.

Week 4 is open to Level 3 and 4 riders only.

**In order to get the most fun and learning from the camp experience, those who have never been exposed to horses should book at least one introductory lesson at our special Introduction to Camp rate of $30 (tax included) for a 30 minute session. nearly 50% off our regular rate.

Please contact us to confirm availability in your desired week, then download the Summer Camp Registration 2020 fill it out and return to us by e-mail or mail along with payment by e-transfer, cheque or cash.

5 Day Camp: $450

Helmet rental: $10 per week

Before and After Care: available from 8:00 to 9:00 am and from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.

  • Individual days a.m. or p.m.: $15 each
  • 5 or more a.m. or p.m. $10 each
  • full week (a.m. and p.m.): $90

All fees payable in full at time of registration. Payment can be made by cheque, cash or e-transfer. Please do not send cash through the mail. If mailing registration, please contact us to confirm availability.


Early Bird Payment: Register by March 1, 2019 and receive $10 off per rider.

Multi-week/Multi-rider: Book 2 or more sessions for one rider or 2 riders from same family in one session and receive $10 off per rider, per week.

  • Maximum discount per child: $20
  • Maximum discount per family: $40

What to Wear

  • Riding pants or comfortable stretch pants (jeans aren’t comfortable for riding)
  • Riding boots (long boots or paddock boots) or garden rubber boots with a small heel
  • Riding helmet (can be rented for $10/week)

You can get new equipment at area tack shops Vision Saddlery (Bells Corners), Greenhawk Harness and Supply (Nepean),  Ashland Tack & Feed (Ashton)  Encore Equestrian (Merrickville),  or Apple Saddlery  (East Ottawa) or you can find many items second hand. Always buy a helmet, new and not used to be sure it is still in good shape.

What to Bring

  • Change of clothes appropriate for weather: shorts and t-shirt for hot weather, running shoes and socks (no sandals or flip-flops)
  • Lunch, snacks, drinks, extra water
  • Sunscreen, bug spray, raincoat if rainy
  • Swimsuit, towel
